Social Fabric Pledge
Social Fabric has been working with Dragon Cafe, and others who use mental health care services, to consider the impact of design on mental health patients, and the ways these lessons might inform design for mainstream psychological wellbeing.
Dragon Cafe patrons have contributed to the draft of a long list of guidelines for the design community to consider at the planning and budgeting stages to ensure psychological wellbeing or recovery is included in specifications. TYMO is appealing to the wider design community to feed in to the draft 'Social Fabric Pledge' to suggest ways in which sensory inputs might be practically, and meaningfully considered in a professional context, to help us design more mainstream spaces with wellbeing in mind.
The Pledge will take the form of a wellbeing design Charter co-created by service users, designers and mental health professionals to encourage good practice in the interior, spatial and product design communities, allied to work in the built environment sector.
